Sacraments |
At St. Anne's Catholic Primary School we receive three Sacraments:
Our school maintain strong links between the parish, school and home. This means that the preparation for these Sacraments remains very strong. Children develop an excellent understanding of how taking part in these Sacraments help to deepen their relationship with God. |
Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is received by baptised Catholic children in Year 3.
All children in Year 3 are included in the celebration of the Sacrament and our inclusive ethos ensures that those children who are not baptised Catholics are enabled to participate as fully as possible in supporting their classmates during the programme.
Holy Communion
Children in Year 3 also receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
The preparation takes place during RE lessons, additional Sacramental preparation sessions and there are also meetings between school, parents and our Parish Priest, Father Robert.
The children receive Holy Communion in the Summer term of Year 3. This Sacrament is widely celebrated by the entire school and parish community.

Confirmation
Children in Year 5 or 6 receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We celebrate the sacrament every two years.
Once again, there are meetings between school, parents, parish catechists and Parish Priest in order to assist parents with preparing their children. The children are extremely excited about encouraging all their family and friends to come and join them in church on the day of their Confirmation.
We recently joined together with children, staff and families from Saint Bernard's and English Martyrs Primary School as we completed our Sacramental preparations and celebrations during this academic year. Bishop David Evans and Father Robert celebrated our Confirmation Mass with us at English Martyrs Church and it was a wonderful occasion.
